OnePass is cutting a core member benefit where it matters most.
From 21 September 2026, Kmart clearance items will no longer qualify for free delivery through OnePass.
Free delivery is one of the clearest reasons to pay for a retail membership. It makes small online orders practical. It also lets members judge a deal by the product price, without a delivery fee wiping out the saving at checkout.
Clearance is exactly where that benefit has real value. These purchases are price-led. The saving can be modest, and the products can disappear quickly. Add a delivery fee and a clearance deal can stop being a deal.
Removing free delivery from Kmart clearance purchases therefore materially weakens OnePass. Members will still have a membership, but it will do less for the purchases where bargain shoppers need it most.
A paid membership should make shopping at its participating retailers easier and better value. This change does the opposite for Kmart clearance purchases.
It creates a new exclusion around discounted products. In plain terms, the lower Kmart marks the product price, the less useful the OnePass delivery benefit becomes. That is a terrible message to send to members who joined to save money.
Whatever the business reason, the result feels hostile. OnePass is asking members to keep valuing the membership while carving a popular bargain category out of a core benefit.
This is not a harmless condition hidden at the edge of the program. Delivery cost can decide whether an online purchase makes financial sense. Taking free delivery away can erase the very saving that made the clearance purchase attractive.
The announced change is specific:
We are not claiming that OnePass is removing other benefits. There is no need to exaggerate the wider position. This one confirmed removal is bad enough on its own.
If you use OnePass for Kmart clearance shopping, check the full checkout price from 21 September. Do not assume the delivery benefit will apply because you are a member.
Compare the product price, delivery fee, and any practical alternative before you buy. A clearance sticker means little if delivery consumes the saving.
OnePass should reverse this decision. A membership built around convenience and delivery becomes much harder to recommend when it excludes the exact purchases that many value-focused members want it for.
